What does an assembly “look” like?

A typical school assembly will look something like this:

  • Intro to upbeat music/Student participation/Ice breakers
  • Feats of strength such as bending steel bars in teeth, rolling up a frying pan, tearing through a 1000+ page phone book with bare hands
  • Word of inspiration from team member
  • Other feats of strength such as blowing up hot water bottles, breaking baseball bats behind back or over leg, etc.
  • Challenging, illustrated, character- building message with student or students
  • Feat of strength for climax of the presentation

Why we’re effective?

Power Unlimited is effective for several reasons.
#1 reason: We’re real. Students today just want it straight- no fluff, no beating around the bush. We tell it like it is and we’re not afraid to be honest and forthcoming about where we come from and the mistakes we ourselves have made. Secondly, we’re strong. It sounds silly but our stature commands the attention of this generation’s over-stimulated, easily UN-impressed youth! Thirdly, we’re effective motivators because our team is comprised of individuals from diverse backgrounds who are able to relate to ANY student from any socioeconomic background, color, or creed. When specific instruction or attention is needed, the male team members effectively speak to the young men and our female team member touches each young woman. Each power packed school assembly is designed with the audience in mind. Because Power Unlimited caters to such a diverse audience, it’s imperative that we are too.

How long does the assembly last?

The typical assembly is approximately 45-60 minutes in length. Again, it will vary depending on the audience, the venue, and the allotted time you allow us.

Do you do only high schools? What type of schools do you do?

Our events cater to any school- public or private, and our messages are age-appropriate for any and all students from elementary to college because we tailor each presentation to fit the audience. Elementary students in a rural area will benefit just as equally as a high school student in the city because we tailor the message to fit the students attending.

What issues do you discuss in your presentations?

We hit on topics such as staying in school, being drug-free, abstinence, eating disorders, family hardships, peer pressure, self worth and suicide. We do not discuss any specific religion or specific religious beliefs.

Where does the assembly take place?

In the schools auditorium or gymnasium.

What do we, the schools, have to furnish for the team?

All we need from the school is the use of their PA system with a CD player and at least one microphone. We bring the rest.

What does a 45-60 minute assembly cost?

The typical honorarium per assembly is $650. which covers the cost of our team, our supplies, materials, and our travel expenses. Now, we understand that some smaller or less fortunate schools may not be able to afford this fee, and we also realize that those are sometimes the one’s that need us the most, so if your school is one of those schools, we welcome you to contact us to see what we can work out with you so that no school is left out of this much-needed assembly.
